Detention period extended for prostitution suspects

Criminal Court has extended the detention period for five more days of the 14 people arrested last Monday night suspected of prostitution at a massage parlor.

Police apprehended ten women, four Thai, one Chinese, three Sri Lankans, one Indian and a Nepalese from Natural Beauty Salon located on the third floor M. Sherin, V.B Mart building.

Four men were also apprehended from the salon, three Maldivians and an Indian. Criminal court added five more days to the detention period of all the 14 people arrested with regard to the incident.

Police last night stated that the people were all busted red-handed while committing the felony and that the case is being investigated by the police.

Police had earlier raided and closed down a brothel on Friday night arresting five Thai women and three Maldivian men from Herbal Beauty Salon on the second floor of M.Sherif located near West Park.
