An individual has been sentenced to 10 years in prison by the GDh. Atoll Thinadhoo Magistrate Court for the forced sexual exploitation of a female minor, 10 years of age.
The individual in question is one, Ahmed Saeed [aged 51] of Nirolhu, GDh. Hoadehdhoo and was sentenced on the 11th of June 2013.
He was sentenced to 10 years in prison by the Thinadhoo Magistrate Court due to a case brought to Police attention on the 19th of May 2013 in which he had repeatedly sexually assaulted and exploited a minor.
The statement released by the Magistrate Court stated that the sentencing was done based on Ahmed Saeed confessing to the crime in court and on Article 2009/12 [Special Consideration Act against Sexual Exploiters of Minors].
The investigation phase of the case was concluded and the case was forwarded to the Office of the Prosecutor General on the 30th of May 2013.
