Police has arrested another person on suspicion of conducting child porn with a large number of children and video taping such acts. The person arrested is 40 year old Moosa Ismail of Male' Municipality Special Register.
Briefing reporters on Thursday Head of Serious and Organized Crime Unit, Inspector of Police Hassan Habeeb said that Moosa Ismail was arrested following substantial evidences obtained from the investigation of paedophile Hussein Fazeel (38 years old) on the 11th of January 2009.
Hussein Fazeel was arrested for child porn activities and for storing phonographic pictures of child porn taken with his child victims.
Responding to a reporter's question whether the two had collaborated in their paedophilic activities, Inspector of Police Hassan Habeeb said that investigations conducted up to then had not revealed a direct link between the two. However, he said that the two had used the same children as their victims.
Police arrested Moosa Ismail on suspicion of homosexual activities on the 19th of February. Police also detained six under aged children for investigations along with another 5 adults. Since the children involved suffered from mental and psychological torments, they are being treated with the help of officials from the Department of Gender and Family Protection Services. Inspector of Police Hassan Habeeb said the involved children and their parents are cooperating with the police and providing immense help in the investigations.
Investigations conducted up to now have confirmed that Moosa Ismail operated a cart run business on Bodu Thakurufaanu Magu. Moosa Ismail lures children to his web by providing them with presents, money and food from hotels. He establishes a close relationship with the boys through such behavior to bring them to his room.
In addition to the boys mentioned above, police are also searching for other boys involved in such cases.
Moosa Ismail, the paedophile, involved in the case is a married person.
