An Indian male expatriate, who was working as a computer studies teacher in Haa Dhaalu atoll Vaikaradhoo island, has been arrested for alleged sexual molestation of a 14-year-old girl who studies at the Atoll School in the island.
Police said that a 24-year-old man was arrested in connection with a case of sexual molestation of a girl but did not reveal the suspect's nationality. He was arrested on Tuesday evening under a court order.
A source from Vaikaradhoo told CNM that the suspect was an Indian national.
"The act was supposed to have occured inside the school premises. A teacher is under arrest. No further information can be given at this time as police is investigating the matter," a Councilor from the island told CNM.
